Default anyone happen to have a SICCE pump impeller

So the impeller of my SICCE PSK 2500 finally gave it up. Same problem Cammie had a while back if you recall. Up to now I have been able to cajole it in to starting but not today. Even worse is that I managed to overflow the skimmer cup right before it gave up. So I have gunk in my tank and sump (not much, I just cleaned it out a few days ago).

I am going to order one today but now my 150G has no skimmer until I get it. I do have 2 Aqua C Remora HOBs that I am going to try to put on the back and/or sump to help some.

Does anyone "happen" to have a spare impeller or know of a place locally I can get it? Like this

A couple of times my sicce has been especially stubborn (blowing down airline, beating on pump didn't work), I put the outflow from a maxi jet into the input of the sicce, blew into airline and voila.

Does the impeller still turn manually in the block? If it doesn't, this probably won't work.

Just wondering if you could try sanding the magnet down a little, since you already ordered another it shouldn't cause much problem as long as you finish with a real fine grit (don't want to score the motor block)

I am going to try that Eric thanks!! Don't know if it still turns manually as I have not yet had it off the skimmer. I will do so to clean it but hoping I can get it jumpstarted for now and then replaced if necessary.

If you've never opened it before, it's a real pain to open the first time.YouTube - How to open a Sicce pump

Thanks - I have not opened it. That will be up as soon as I get all these little seahorses fed.

Tried the maxijet trick, no go. The water level rose up but no bubbles so I assume no air

Try twisting the pump. As Eric said getting it open the 1st time is NOT easy. It took everything I had to get Cammies open. However, when I opened hers I noticed it was not really any swelling noticeable on the pinwheel. It seemed to be binding up in the end pointing awa from the pump, at the rubber bushing.

1st try reaching in and twisting the pump a little to see if that jump starts it. If that does not tae the pump off the skimmer and when you put the pump back together do not tighten the piece that comes off when you open it nearly as tight as it was when you got it off.

I found with hers the grate piece that comes off was so tight it was binding up the length of the shaft of the pinwheel. There was no swelling noted of the magnet. As soon as I loosened the grate the thing took off.

I've twisted and banged and bent and begged that pump. Just no go this time. So next step is to take it off

Well take it off and take it apart. You will see how ridiculously tight they are from the factory. Watch that video Eric posted up above. Don't put it back together as tight as it was and I will bet it fires rght up.

Kevin wasn't that when you were over the day you took it apart. But didn't you also out the new one back in? or was it the old one that fired back up too?

Ok got it apart. Yep very tight to get the first piece off. I cleaned it up. The impeller seems to move ok when I turn it manually before I put the back on again.

I will put it on less tight and reconnet it to the skimmer. Keep your fingers crossed.
