Well the hippo doesn't look any worse. He is eating well and swimming around like there is nothing wrong. Im adding garlic guard and selcon to his food and doing multiple feedings so hopefully he will pull thru. I really appreciate if everybody could stay on the subject of helping me help the fish.

Thank you
Ramon

That's great news!! When the weather clears and the roads are safe, pick up some algae sheets and/or the flakes, mine was scared of the sheets when I hung a piece at first but I would pinch off little pieces and drop in the tank, before long he discovered that the sheets weren't the boggy man and I could hardly get it in the tank for him being all in the way. Sorry, rambling, but tangs really do need the algae, keeps them healthy, in the wild they graze on it all day long. You can go to the Asian section of the grocery store and buy it there, much cheaper.

Freshmeat

Everyone is trying to help you with this tang. No one wants to see it pass away. The reason why everyone keeps mentioning the tank size is due to the fact that tangs need room no matter how small. Tangs like to swim laps and most are constantly moving. If the Tang is stressed then it will stay sick. That could be due to the size of the tank, the water premeters, or the other fish.
Regardless if it came from another tank, Im pretty sure I know whos(not that it matters), that was smaller it can still be stressed in a tank thats too small for it. For the record if its the fish I think it is, Im pretty sure it was sick in that tank to a few times.

Well I decided the best thing for the fish was to put him in the QT that I just got set up over weekend. Hopefully the little guy will come through. I'll try to post more pics later. I think he's a little stressed after the move, so I dont want to run the chance of making it worse. I've been doing a lot of reading since we can't do anything else because of all this snow and it doesn't look like ich anymore. I think that is some other kind of skin disease almost like a fungus, so I got some medicine and i am treating him in the QT. Pray for the little fella. I really dont want to loose him.

Vitamin C is also a good natural supplement Ramon. you may want to try it in his food or just dosing the tank

Just want to let everybody know that the Hippo is doing great. He is still in the QT tank and his spots are gone. I will keep treating him until i'm sure is safe for him to go back. I really would love to get rid of my flame angel before placing the hippo back in the tank since I think that was part of the problem. So if you know anybody looking for a healthy one send him my way. Thanks everybody again for all their support and input.

Thanks,
Ramon
