Default Golden Dwarf Acaras

Aquamain's just got some of these guys in. They're new to me. I bought a threesome. Have you guys kept them before? Any info? http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/474.htm

Hi Left... I was unable to make it to Aquamains this weekend, I hurt my back. Nice looking little fish, maybe you will get some fry. Do you plan on setting up a separate tank for them?

They're in a heavily planted tank that used to house a breeding threesome of cockatoo's.

How did you hurt your back?

i've never heard of these either. nice looking fish though. kind of looks like a betta to me (i can only see the one picture though). it's odd that an SA cichlid likes a planted tank - all of mine destroyed the plants i had in their tank (so now they just have rocks and wood...no color).

I've only had dwarf SA cichlids and they work in a planted tank. Here's the fish that I've kept:
German Rams
Bolivian Rams
Keyhole Cichlids
Checkerboard Lyretail Cichlids
Apistogramma agassizii
Apistogramma borellii
Apistogramma cacatuoides
and now the Golden Dwarf Acara

I like all of these guys. Some of the Apistogramma species are really colorful.

Default nannacara anomala

lovely little cichlid and GREAT parents, maybe too great in fact. A female nannacara guarding fry is an absolute terror to anything, any size. she will bite the eyes out of a catfish that blunders too close. except when breeding theyre nice community fish. one of the best dwarf cichlids for beginners imo, easy to sex, seems to be hardier than apistos, checkerboards and rams, and the fry are a bit larger.
