well the brown algae is about 95% gone now but the hair algae i kickin in good and in past few days starting getting some green colored algae on the rocks and alot of green colored algae that not hair algae, looks more like a fern than hair algae and is green. ill try and get a pic of the algae for better id.

should i get a turbo snail or something to eat some of the algae
the tank has been set up for 25 days now.

Probably ought to get some chaeto or other macroalgae to help out-compete the hair crud. At this point you can start adding clean up crew. To drip the mollies.....6-12 hours should suffice. The more gradual the better but Mollies are tough as nails. I like putting mollies in SW systems because they are very peaceful and herbivorus.....they do a pretty good job of scarfing green stuff.

did some water test today and my ph is getting lower was 8.2 last 2 weeks now 8.0 do i need to add some type of buffer or something to the tank? i dont have any test kits other than the ph,calcium, nit, nitate, ammonia

i did a 25% water change last week with ro water but didnt add anything to the tank but some chaeto to the hob filter.
the hair algae is still growing like weeds and the turbo snail has done a good job of cleaning some of it up but still a mess. i was told the 12,000k bulb i have is the problem and i need to go with a 50/50 bulb and it would be better off.

im thinking of getting a t5 fixture for the tank later this year but want to use the compact fixture for now since its new.
i have a 5500k bulb i can replace the 12,000k with, is this ok for now or should i stay with the 12,00k?

heres the water
calcium 440
nitrate 0
nitrite 0
ammonia 0
ph 8.0
salinity 1.021

i had some algae all over the glass to but i scrubbed it off few days ago, brown ( diatom) and hair algae was on the glass and still is in spots you can see in picture, i figured the brown would be gone by now?
