Default Matt's 3-tank setup! Finally an offical build thread!

Recently I've only posted pics of the 25g b/c it was the nicest, the other tank was neglected until recently.

You'll notice they are all the same height, so they fit under the canopy. I designed and built the entire stand/canopy at the shop here at the Seminary.

From left to right, it's a 25 "tall", a 20-long, and a custom built 15" cube that I made from a broken 75g tank (thanks Scooterblenny!!!). The cube is empty--- I don't have a light for it right now (LED's in the future?).

Here is the setup with the sump/fuge. Sump on the left is an old 40-tall. Fuge on the right is a 29g (thanks JoeCreature!). Skimmer in the sump is a Coralife 220 (thanks Marineduud!!!). It's run by a terribly oversized 1000gph pump but is working great.

FTS of the 25:
This is a mixed tank, and I just put a 250W DE halide over it (Thanks Cammie!). I had a 4X24 Nova Extreme but recently sold it (Thanks Nemo!) when I got the halide. I also have 8 high-power Cree XRE royal blues for actinics and it makes a HUUUUUUGGGE difference. Just ask James Smith, he saw it in person.

FTS of the 20: I call this the "ROYAL RUMBLE" tank, since I allow things to grow however and wherever it wants. Lots of xenia, kenya, anthelia. The red goniopora was in the 25, but it just was too powerful of a coral killer so I put it in here, seems to really like it's spot. This has a 4X24 T5.

Yes you do . I poked a hole in the side of it for a drain, and it's working flawlessly. Thanks!!! Makes a fantastic fuge.

I got lucky when a buddy of mine gave me that 40-tall. Makes the perfect sump, BARELY fit in the canopy. You do NOT want to know what it took to get that 40 into that stand. It DID involve a jack and a piece of 2X4 (no joke!), I needed literally 1/16" more clearance to get the 40 in there (put it in sideways and then rotated 90-degrees it into sitting position).

Thanks!

I can't decide what to do with the 15" cube. I'm thinking frag/grow out tank. Not sure though. I'd need to put some serious light over it (150 halide at least, or a strong LED setup). I want to have SPS frags in it.

Here is a video of comparing the 250w Phoenix with the Cree's (the Cree's are dimmed up and down in the video).
