Default Tony's new sump pic

This is my new , self made sump. Constructed from cast acrylic.
Dims are 14'' x 14'' x 32'' water capacity is 14.8 gallons running.
It is on a dry run, well...a wet dry run. First chamber is a 200 micron filter sock suspended by a custom bracket. Second is the fuge, notice the cpr fuge lamp up top. Third is the skimmer chamber with the fresh new
xp2000 w/ a bubble blaster. final chamber is the return. Cant wait to set it up.

Nice cone skimmer! Personally I would switch the skimmer chamber and the fuge in the order and remove the first section, but that is me. Make sure you have enough volume in the return section for a few days of evaporation. If not you will regret it!

Very nice, Tony! You did some quality work there. I can understand your excitement. Let the water flow!

That sump is awesome. What size tank are you running it on? Where did you purchase that Skimmer?

Default sump

Thanks for all of the comments on my handy work. I've been working with plastics for over 20 years. I bought the sump from Brian and the crew @ The Fish Room in north Raleigh.

I am assuming he has a nice auto top off? What size tank is this going on? With a fuge you will probably end up pulling that filter sock off. They work but are quite aggravating.

Default My sump

Correction, I made the sump. I bought the octopus skimmer from fish room.
Iv'e never used a sock but I understand they keep the water polished. If it gets clogged up too fast, I'll buy some extras to have on hand while the others get cleaned. My tank is a 75 mixed reef w/(2) 150w 10k halides and (2) full actinic pc's. Im running a continuous drip top off/ kalkwasser dosing system. The sump is up and running. I'll post some pics.

Thanks,

Tony
