Sept's TOTM Chatter/Comments

OK- Asking me not to comment on something is like asking a three year old to keep quite on the playground at McDonalds so... I figured we should have a thread for comments related to the current TOTM contest.

My thoughts are to keep comments off the submission or poll posts because if it starts getting deep in pictures along with comments it will be hard for others to go through and remember which pics were the ones you/he/she/we liked so keeping it uncluttered was our goal.

At the same time I think a chatter thread would be helpful so people can comments on different pics or ask questions or encourage others to post their tank, etc.

The only think that we ask is that everyone plays nice. Please refrain from any negative comments about someone's tank. Healthy debates like; I like so and so's tank because I like all the caves but I can appreciate the simplicity of so and so's tank. (Common sense should prevail)

OK- Now my comments.

Kim- Love the pic of the Larry saying guess who. If only he had flowers behind his back.

Mr. Tang- Not sure what you're talking about... I really like the rock work and didn't think the picture's sucked at all. And it's honestly not me just being P.C. like what I was illustrating above. I think the tank looks cool.
BTW- I moved your post to the > (greater than) 90 gal thread.

Hmm... I had a similar problem with the pic I posted earlier and I just re-pasted the link and for some reason it showed up again. I didn't have any issues with Kim's pic though and I just checked it and it looks to be working. Maybe deleting cookies (I know you like the cookies

) and refreshing the page.

In addition. I received some suggestions about having a Pic O' The Month thread by itself like the TOTM threads. My original thought was we (now), the winners (of subsequent months) would chose 5 pics from the two different TOTM thread to be considered as Pic O' The Month finalists to be voted on.

I can see how it would be easier for some to just submit a Pic O' The Month. What do you you all think? Want to have a thread each month for just POTM entries?

Yeah...in a way this thing sucks. I just PM'd one person asking about if they were fragging something in the future to let me know. Its like I'm window shopping for who I'm going to but about certain corals I'd like a frag of....thanks!

Yeah I say separate thread for pic of the month so it does not get confusing. What do you all think??

Good idea. I think the two are unrelated. I wanted to post my picture but not really my tank.

I just looked at the TOTM entries so far. Going to be VERY hard to choose one for which to vote.

I vote for POTM, I think some pics for instance Critter's were awesome but as she stated she does not want to submit a pic of her whole tank. I'm sure there are others with the same attitude/opinion. Where they capture a certain activity or shot but are not interested in the whole tank thing or there tank is not quite ready.

OK- Sounds like we need a POTM thread. Everyone should thank CraigY for bringing it up.

And yes... the submissions are going to be hard to chose from. Everyone needs to start brainstorming on ideas for what they want the criteria to be next month if they win. We had it easy because we could just make something up and roll with it. hehe.
