NC wildlife authorities want to make it illegal

to keep Amazon Redtail catfish starting next year.

I suppose redtail cats might survive in power plant cooling lakes, as Tilapia and Pleco's do.

Also proposed is "Margined madtom and tadpole madtom shall not be taken or possessed from inland fishing waters". I understand the concern for over-harvest of madtoms for bass bait, but it seems odd they're only includng the two most common NC madtom species, and not the rare ones (Carolina, broadtail, orangefin, mountain, stonecat). Why not just ban harvest of all madtoms?
