The North Carolina Marine Aquarium Society (NCMAS) is a non-profit organization of marine enthusiasts dedicated to the care and conservation of all aquarium kept marine life. NCMAS primary objective is to educate others in the techniques required to properly house fish, inverts and coral.

The Western NC Aquarium Society (in Hickory) has merged into the Charlotte Area Aquarists (CAAS) in Aug 2014. The combined clubs now operate under the CAAS name.
