Unless your house was built along time ago new houses are built to well enough to hold it. Based on t he sq ft of your room x 40 is a minimum and 60 is more like it,most floors are over built. I have 900 gallons on the second floor of my shop, did the math first I only have 1/16 th inch defection.
I'm not trying to hijack the thread. But, I believe caution should always be exercised. I went underneath my house (crawl space), and installed (2) 4" x 4"'s with screwjacks purchased from Lowe's just to be sure. I discovered, I only had 2 x 8 floor joists. Better to be safe than sorry.
Dang Joe, you know I hate to see this even though I knew it was coming, just hate to see it in black and white, but believe me I completely understand.
Crazy thing is that someone hasn't jumped on this yet???
