On my home screen a blank colored box has showed up on the bottom half of the screen. There is nothing in it and tapped on it to see if it would shrink at all. How do I remove this,tried searching can't find anything. Thanks.

Try this ...
Hold the home button (the button on the face of the phone) and also the power button at the same time. Hold them together until the apple logo appears. If it asks if you want to power off (with the slider) ignore and keep holding.

See if that reset clears it.

I could be a glitch, try to reload your the software by plugging it to your computer and opening up iTunes app .start it as a new setup.
