OK we just finished setting up our new 180 last night. And I was curious is there a trick to get it to clear up quicker? Still pretty cloudy.

Time is your greatest ally in this situation, since you have a filter sock and hopefully the right filtration in place? If you do, then just wait. Even though there are chemical solutions to make this happen in an hour or two, your best option is to wait. Patience, really is a virtue.

Yeah our sump is going with sock and skimmer. We dosed it with stability this morning. The sand we used is the fine sand also so I'm sure that makes it take longer. And patients your asking for a lot aren't you???...... Lol!!

You could use a diatom filter,Like a magnum 250.or 350.as they catch the fine particles they use those particles to catch even finer particles....But it still takes time...LOL

^ Regal is right, You could toss on an extra canister if youd like to, but youd only be saving an hour or two.

Remember, Nothing good happens fast in a reef tank!

I would just let things take their course. Trying to save time in the end just is not worth it...

OK 24 hours still cloudy is that normal. I don't remember it taking this long.

Did you put the sand in after the water ?

Totally normal! Especially for the fine grain sand.. Did you happen to rinse it at all before putting it in the tank? Or did you go with live sand?

We did not rinse it out and there was some water in their when we put the sand in it.

Ok. Then that is totally normal! It could still take a couple of days to clear up though
