Does anyone use a wet/dry filtration system on a reef tank? I am finally getting around to setting up a used system I bought several years ago. It came with an Amiracle wet/dry but the LFS says that is a "no-no" for a reef tank. I just want some opinions.
Responded in other thread...but could add that if you take the bio balls out it wouldn't accumulate nitrates...but it is hard to have room for a skimmer. I do have one I am still using at home...but it is a QT tank for fish and rarely used, so I don't have a skimmer on it...just filled up the part that used to have bio balls with rubble.
In a display reef tank, though...I am sure you would be happier picking up a cheap 20g from somewhere.
