Does anyone know if you can use Permatex RTV silicone adhesive sealant #66BR?
Here are the chemicals in it

POLY (DIMETHYLSILOXANE),HYDROXY TERMINATED
AMORPHOUS SILICA
DISTILLATES (PETROLEUM),HYDROTREATED MIDDLE
ETHYLTRIACETOXYSILANE
METHYLTRIACETOXYSILANE
ACETIC ACID

Those are the chemicals off the MSDS sheet.

Thanks,
Jim

"100% silicone" contains all of listed chemicals you stated. Silicone is a synthetic, they all contain this crap. the 100% typical means that there are no fungicides or anything extra in addition to the standard composition of silicone. The chemicals listed on your product match those of DAP 100%; the acetic acid also portrays the method of curing, you will find acetic acid in silicone marketed for aquariums. I would honestly say you are good. If it will make you feel better though go to Lowes and get one that says 100% on it haha

i am not responsible for the outcome of using this product :)

i thought you could only use the ge silicone II

oh well
Silicone II is the one with Mold Inhibitors in it. You definitely don't want to use that one.

I dont know what the MSDS looks like for silicone, but as long as you use 100% silicone you are okay. I use the GE I forget if it is I or II but its the one without mold inhibitors. Don't get anything fancy, nothing fast curing, or 1 hour rain ready or whatever. Just regular, boring, 100% silicone.
