For us in the path of the storm thats on the way to Nc im in wilmington and am getting concerned about options and what i need to make my tank last if we do lose power.. What are some cheaper options to get me through if the worst senerio happens..
Go purchase a generator that's your best option you can run your tank and depending on how big you go on the generator your fridge and other things also
You can buy battery backup bubblers for very inexpensive. Not good for a longer term power out but for a few hours. Here's a more expensive possibility on Amazon but they also have $10 ones. Probably can get them at pet stores too. Just add airline and an air stone
Worse case scenario and it will be out for a couple days ihave a generator to run my house and plenty of extra tanks and can hold coral or fish if needed.
Otherwise on a small tank you could run a couple powerheads off a jump pack with 110v plugs on it like walmart has for $100 for a good while. Or even a battery powered bubble with air stones. You wont need heat you basically just need air/water movement for the most part. If you do buy generator make aure to get one with a plastic gas tank because a metal one will rust
